Obituary of Brenda Lee Oakes
With great sadness the husband and family announces the peaceful passing of Brenda Oakes of Rothesay, which occurred on December 27, 2016, surrounded by loved ones at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Campbellton on July 2, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Langford and Muriel (Thompson) Barton. Brenda will be missed dearly by her husband, Gary Oakes of Rothesay; her 3 daughters, Lana Bissonnette (Daniel) of Moncton, Kim Bourgeois (Eugene) of Dieppe and Lori Fitzgerald Roherty (Carl) of Campbellton; her sister, Barbie Harding (Evan) of Dalhousie; her grandchildren, Tony, Sam and Molly; her step-daughters, Leanne Oakes of Mount Uniacke, NS and Erin Oakes (Will Roberts) of Mahone Bay, NS; step-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Emily, Riley, William, Oona and Kaila; step-great-grandchildren, Noah, Delilah, Elijah and Laughlin. She is predeceased by her brother, Shane Barton (Monique) of Campbellton. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at St. Paul’s Church, 4 Church Avenue, Rothesay and will be immediately followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date in Campbellton. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
