Obituary of Lloyd Ronald Ryder
The family of Lloyd Ryder, husband of the late Veronica (Gillen) Ryder, announce his passing on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born October 12, 1921, at Saint John, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lavina Ryder. Lloyd worked several years as a Welder at the Irving Pulp Mill. He managed and played for the Saint John Dodgers, and enjoyed his time hunting and fishing at his camp in New Canaan. Lloyd is survived by his four daughters: Estelle Fowler (Beverley), Beverly MacKenzie, Dawn LeBlanc (Joseph), and Terri McNaughton; grandchildren: Timothy MacKenzie, Kevin Fowler (Mary), Lani LeBlanc, Jill Tugwell (Geoff), Christian LeBlanc (Jill), Neil McNaughton (Rena), and Nathan McNaughton; great-grandchildren: Courtney LeBlanc, Jordan Brideau, Daniela Fowler, Kyle Fowler, Luke McNaughton, Austin McNaughton, and Emily Woodhouse; great-great-grandchildren: Frederick and Benjamin Woodhouse; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Lloyd was predeceased by his two brothers: Arnold and Donald, and his grandson, Tony Fowler. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11am in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the South End Daycare, Children’s Wish Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com.
