Obituary of Helen Gertrude Angela Mudge
It is with heavy hearts and respect for a life well-lived that the family of Helen Gertrude Angela (Foreman) Mudge announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, December 1, 2017. Helen was born on March 24, 1926 in Stanley, New Brunswick to the late Harry and Winnifred (Keenan) Foreman. She graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and retired from nursing after many years of dedicated work at Ruth Ross Residence. Helen is survived by her seven children, James "Jim" Mudge (Joy), Patrick Mudge (Walter), Anne Redmond (Michael), Frank Mudge, John Mudge, Jean Webster (Dave) and Mary O’Connell (Tom); 21 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband James V. "Vince" Mudge; brothers, Arthur and John Foreman; and sisters, Elsie Hickey, Phyllis Pugh, Glenna DiCarlo and Jessie Sparkes. Helen’s family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Margaret MacCallum and to Helen’s caregivers over the years. The kindness, care and compassion shown to Helen will never be forgotten. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 348 Rockland Rd., Saint John, NB on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances in memory of Helen may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
