Obituary of Brian Leonard Watson
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brian Watson announces his passing, which occurred on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Born on June 1, 1951 in Saint John, he was the youngest of 13 children of the late Leonard and Marion (Mercer) Watson. Prior to his illness, Brian was employed with Eddy Group Ltd. and in his earlier years was employed with Baxter Dairies and Rothesay Paper. Brian was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the camp on Musquash Lake. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and always looked forward to his Wednesday night crib games. He was most proud of his granddaughters and attended as many of their activities as possible. Brian had a wonderful sense of humour and livened up any room he entered with his personality. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. Brian is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda (Harris) Watson; children, Christopher Watson (Carol Egglefield) and Karri Watson (Allan Arsenault); precious granddaughters, Stephanie and Hope Watson. He is also survived by sisters, Sandra Forgrave, Norma Blizzard (James), Barb Campbell, Frances Collins and Dorothy Strang; brothers, Arthur Watson (Sharon) and Ralph Watson (Sylvia); sister-in-law, Daisy Watson, brother-in-law, Raymond Roy; along with many special nieces, nephews, dear friends and members of his extended family. In addition to his parents, Brian was also predeceased by sisters, Bernice Mallory and Joyce Roy; as well as brothers, Raymond, Donald and William. Arrangments are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Glen View United Church, 8 Upland Road, Saint John on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM and will be immediately followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Brian’s memory may be made to Glen View United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
