Obituary of Dorothy 'Helen' Ryan
With great sadness the family of Dorothy "Helen" (Mason) Ryan, loving wife of the late Joseph "Jerry" Ryan, announce her passing which occurred on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Bobby’s Hospice. Helen was born on December 4, 1942 in Saint John, to Michael and Elizabeth (Kelly) Mason. Helen enjoyed her family and friends, and enjoyed cooking and get-togethers, with her family. Helen also loved children and animals, especially dogs and cats. She had a big heart and was ready to give a hug to whomever that she felt needed one. Helen also liked going to bingo and meeting her bingo buddies! Later in her life she liked to travel, especially to Florida with her special friends Carole and John Titus. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Michael Ryan (Jennifer Given) and Mark Ryan; grandchildren: Steven, Max and Wayne; brothers: Everett Kelly (Cecile), Robert Allain (Bernice), Brian Mason (Sharon), James Mason (Vanessa), Terrence "Terry" Mason and Vincent Mason; sisters: Sharon Langley, Nadine Forbes and Wendy Dollar along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was also predeceased by her brother Wayne Mason and brother-in-laws: Chuck Langley and Lyle Forbes. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In following Helen’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the St. Williams Mission Church on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Williams Mission Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Bobby’s Hospice or the St. Williams Mission Church Fund.
