Obituary of Eldon Joseph Martin
The death of Eldon Joseph "Al" Martin occurred on September 1, 2017. Born in Montreal, QC on August 6, 1932, son of the late Alfred and Freda (Brine) Martin. Al was employed at Saint John Shipbuilding as a Foreman in the Pipe Shop and later worked at Bourque Mechanical as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He is survived by his children: Wade E. Martin (Brenda) of North Oxford, MA, Brenda Belmonte (Richard) of Grafton, NH, Angela Watson of Medford, MA, Deborah Morgan of New Port Richey, FL. He is also survived by his sisters: Joyce Godwin (Fred) of Saint John and Alice MacAulay of St. Catherines, ON; his brothers: Stanley of Red Deer, AB, Alfred of Truro, NS, Frank (Bonnie) of Hatfield Point, NB; grandchildren: Richie (Kelly) Belmonte, Samantha Belmonte, Mackenzie Martin, Madison Martin, Christopher Watson and Andrew Watson, and great grandchild, Oliver Martin Belmonte; along with several special nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Eldon was predeceased by his sisters: Theresa Stevens and Pearl Logan. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visitation on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 2 PM to 8 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated from the Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment will be held on a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital or SPCA/Animal Rescue.
