Obituary of Charles McIntyre
It is with great sadness that the family of Charles McIntyre, loving husband of Lynne (Burhoe) McIntyre, announces his passing which occurred on Friday, May 12, 2017. Born on January 26, 1955 in London, England he was a son to the late Charles and Helen (Boyle) McIntyre. Charles was a Millwright with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 1386 and 2262, working at the Dry Dock right up until they closed their doors. He worked odd jobs for the union until he fell ill and was forced into early retirement in 2014. Charles loved to fish, often going to Hoppy’ s Hole in Garnett Settlement and Brown’s Lake. He enjoyed going for drives and having a Coca-cola. His grandchildren will fondly remember him as a great story-teller. He will be missed. Charles leaves behind to grieve, his wife of 41 years, Lynne, their children: Charity McIntyre (Todd Fougere), Leigh McIntyre and Sophia McIntyre (Shawn Abbott), grandchildren: Caitlin, Kendra, Jaynah, Skye, Dominic and Devon, his siblings: Helen Stewart, Sue "Scottie" Cole, Bernard (Heather) McIntyre and Theresa (David) Blizzard, sister-in-law Grace Smith, along with several nieces, nephews and members of his extended family. Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by his sisters: Sandra and Sophia McIntyre and brothers-in-law: Randy Cole, Robert Stewart and Ian Burhoe. Arrangements are in the care of Brenans Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where a visitation to celebrate Charles’s life will take place on Monday, May 15 from 2-4 and 6-8. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
