Obituary of Mary Ethel Hitchcock

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Hitchcock, loving wife of the late William F. Hitchcock, announces her passing which occurred on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 21, 1936 she was a daughter to the late Walter and Helen (Butler) Holmes. Mary was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Parish and always offered a helping hand where needed, whether in the office or assisting with collection. Mary was an active golfer and a former member of the Sussex Golf and Country Club. Mary will be fondly remembered by her surviving family, her siblings: Joe (Ann) Holmes, Margaret (Malcolm) Galbraith, Patricia (Herb) Curbishley, Agnes Mitchell and Jean (Terry) McKeon along with several nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband William and her brother Thomas Holmes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
