Obituary of G. Clare Cooper
While we celebrate a life well lived; we grieve for the passing of Genevieve Clare (Daly) Cooper, wife to the late John Cooper, who passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born on June 12, 1927 in Mispec, NB, Clare was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Steeves) Daly.
Clare was a woman of faith and an involved member of the Catholic community. She was employed with City Laundry for her entire working career. She was an animal lover who very much enjoyed her pup and budgie birds. Above all, Clare loved spending time being social with her family and friends. She was a caregiver by nature; always putting her family’s needs before her own. Clare repeatedly showed this by just being present for those she loved and those in need. She will be missed by all who know her.
Clare will be lovingly remembered by her family, her sisters: Agnes Daly and Bernice Mollins, her nieces and nephew to whom she was a mother figure: Joe Madore, Sandra Madore, Donna Simms and Patricia Glode who she loved and cared for dearly, her step-children: David Cooper, Deborah Cormier and Barbara Cooper, along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family.
Besides her parents and husband John, Clare was predeceased by her brothers: Fred, Harry, Morris, Arthur and twin brother baby Harry, sisters: Marion and Gertrude and step-son Donald Cooper.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 29 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 30 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 31 from Stella Maris Parish, 201 Bayside Drive, at 12 Noon with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue
