Obituary of Benito Cerrone
With appreciation for a life well-lived, but with great sadness and a heavy heart that Antonietta (Giordani) Cerrone and daughters; Manuela, Lorella and Arlene announce the passing of their husband and dear father, Benito Cerrone on January 27th, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Tripoli, Libya on April 29th, 1938, he was the son of the late Geramino and Angela (Scaccia) Cerrone. Raised in Lanciano, Italy, Benito moved to Canada to start a new adventure in 1962 where his passion for wood working supported him until retirement. After six short months of landing in Montreal, Quebec, Benito moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he later met and married his loving wife of 49 years on October 4th, 1969. In 1974, their journey took them to Rothesay, New Bruswick where they raised their three daughters: Manuela (Robert), Lorella and Arlene (Martin).
Together, Benito and Antonietta built a home for their children where they instilled the understanding that with hardwork, honesty and passion, that life would always reward them with true happiness.
Later in life as a Nonno, such values were shown to each of his grandchildren; Catharine, Rebecca, Lucas, Jeremy, Abigail and Lilian, as well as great-grandson, Braxton. Nonno left a lasting impression on each of their hearts that will last a lifetime.
Along with his wife, daughters and grandchildren, Benito will be missed by his twin sister, Maria, sister Iolanda, both sister and brother in laws, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Benito was predeceased by his brothers Gaetano and Giuseppe, sisters Lucia and Guiseppina and nephew Danny Ugo.
Hai lasciato un'impronta duratura nei nostri cuori che durerà per un'eternità. Ti amiamo sempre e per sempre, finché non ci vediamo di nuovo.
