Beulah was born on December 11, 1919 on Wood Island, Grand Manan to the Reverend Percy and Susie Green. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Beulah attended Bethany Bible College, the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing (class of 1954), and Dalhousie University (BN-Class of 1964). She became a well-loved nursing instructor, spending her career teaching pediatrics at both the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing and the Saint John School of Nursing. Beulah was a lifelong member of the Wesleyan Church who lived much of her life in Brown’s Flat, at Beulah Camp. She enjoyed the yearly "meetings" and spent a great deal of time playing games and chatting with her Beulah Camp friends. She was well known in the area for driving around in her red Trans Am, affectionately known as "Precious". Beulah is survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She became a second mother to niece Patricia (Smith) Hodd and nephew Dale Smith, moving in with them after the death of her sister Oral’s husband. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Clifton, Burton, Ken, Maurice, Merlin, Ivan and Paul, as well as sisters Oral and Navina. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B., (634-7424). At Beulah’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Burial will follow on Wood Island, Grand Manan at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Beulah’s memory to the Grand Manan Nursing Home or the Wood Island Church Fund (20 Foster Hill Rd., Grand Manan, NB, E5G 2G6), would be appreciated.
