Obituary of Marjorie Ruth Parlee
With heavy hearts, the family of Marjorie Parlee, wife of Clive Parlee, announce her passing on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born June 6, 1936 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late F. Ronald and Edith Barbara (Shanks) Melvin. Marjorie worked at Baxter Foods for 25 years, and was a proud graduate of Saint John High School. In addition to her husband, Clive, Marjorie is survived by her daughters: Brenda Ruth Mackie (Edward A.), Margo Lynn Marshall (Rick), Cheryl Ann Boudreau (Ronald), and Lori Jane Ryan (Richard); sons: Stephen Clive (Elaine Sode), Gregory Herbert (Rose Mary), and Michael John (Joyce MacDonald); grandchildren: Jennifer, Jillian, Allison, Patty, Jeremiah, Michael, Kevin, Sarah, Tanya, Kayla, Teagan, Emma, and Eric; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Brian Melvin (Linda); aunts: Joan Melvin and Sharon Maguire; and uncles: Harold Shanks, Don Shanks, and Arthur Melvin. She was predeceased by her parents. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 2 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, with a reception to follow in Brenan’s Reception Centre. For those who wish, remembrances to Hestia House or a local food bank would be appreciated by the family.
