Obituary of Kenneth Robert Hodgin
Surrounded by his family, the passing of Kenneth Robert Hodgin of Saint John, occurred on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Hampton, on May 28, 1933, he was a son of the late Richard Nelson and Georgie Gladys (DeRoss) Hodgin. Ken was employed with the School Board for several years until his retirement. He was known as the Mayor of Birch Lane at the Villa, for his wonderful sense of humor, he was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28. Ken is survived by his daughters; Sue Dale of Saint John, Darlene Ingersoll of Quispamsis, and Doreen Hodgin of Saint John, grandsons; Jake and Mackenzie "Kenzie", brothers, Charlie Hodgin of Hampton, NB, Donnie Hodgin (Anne Davidson) of Garey, NB, and Richard Hodgin (Linda) of BC, and sister Audrey Watkins of BC, several cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada and Connecticut, and special friend Valerie and her family. Besides his former wife, Marie (Pollock), Ken was predeceased by his brothers, George, William, and Harold "Johnny", sisters; Lucy Hodgin, Marion Williston and Florence Burke. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will take place on Monday at 7:00 PM. Graveside service will be held at Hampton Rural Cemetery on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 1PM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation, would be appreciated.
