Obituary of Leslie Anthony Adams
Leslie Anthony Adams Jr. of Parrsboro, NS son of Leslie Adams Sr. and Helen Adams born May 16, 1958 in Saint John, NB. Died peacefully surrounded by his family on February 6th, 2019 at Bobby’s Hospice in Saint John, NB.
After joining the Rodney Sea Cadets at a young age Leslie went on to enjoy a 35 year career in the Royal Canadian Navy traveling the world as a boatswain retiring as a Chief Petty Officer Second Class (CPO2) in 2012. Leslie took pleasure in all aspects of his family life. After retirement in the summer of 2012 Leslie continued to teach first aid with the St. John Ambulance while spending time at his family cottage in Shediac, NB with his wife Nancy (Chamberlain) before her passing in 2013. In 2016 Leslie married Deborah Forbes Adams of Parrsboro, NS where they both enjoyed camping in their RV, motorcycling, murder mysteries, and traveling. Most recently started driving school bus for CCRCE. Leslie was one of the most well-loved, respected individuals and honoured by his family, friends, colleagues, and peers.
He is survived by his adoring wife Deborah Forbes Adams and his three children: Vanessa (Tim), Leslie (Nathalie) and Andrew; cherished grandchildren: Carter, Cassidy and Lily who loved their "Grumpy". Leslie is also survived by his parents: Leslie Sr. and Helen (Howe); siblings: Mike (Dawn), Cindy Hutchinson (Danny), Lana Graves (Chris) and Darren (Stacey); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other members of his extended family. Leslie was predeceased by Nancy, his loving wife of 32 years.
The Adams family would like to thank Bobby’s Hospice for their compassionate, professional, family orientated care. They would also like to thank the KV extramural Services in NB, the palliative outreach program in NS for their support while at home and all the Doctors and Nurses throughout this journey.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 12:10 pm from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB. Remembrances to the Ovarian Cancer Canada - The Walk of Hope (Team Little Nancy’s Posse) or a charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
