Obituary of Margaret Joan Toner
It is with great sadness the family of M. Joan Toner (wife of the late Douglas Toner) announce her passing on April 7, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on July 22, 1933 she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward "Ed’ Ross and Agnes Aldena (Craig) Ross. She was a wonderful mother to her children Kirk D.Toner and his wife Sandra of Quispamsis, Heather S. Emond and her husband John Pierre of Riverview, NB, and was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren Allison (Adam) Smith, Amber Emond, Gregory (Laragh Dooley) Toner and Shawn (Kelley McIntyre) Toner; great granddaughters Reese Toner and Layla Toner. She is also survived by her brother, M John (Denise) Ross and several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Murray Brown; sister-in-law, Leona Toner. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Brown and brother Ronald Ross. A special thank-you to Gwen and Clint Galley and Leona Toner for years of friendship and kindness, the staff of Shannex Parkland and the staff of Saint John Regional Hospital for their care. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visitation on Sunday, April 10, from 2-5 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 3:30 PM. Interment will take place in Mispec Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Joan may be made to Mispec Cemetery Foundation.
