Obituary of Marlyne Mary Villacastin
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marlyne Villacastin, loving wife of Dr. Sisinio (Ning) Villacastin, announces her peaceful passing which occurred Friday, February 3, 2017 at Parkland Shannex with her family by her side. Born January 8, 1943, she was the oldest child and only daughter of the late Ronald and Cecilia (King) Jackson’s seven children. Marlyne was educated in local schools and was a graduate of the Saint John School of Nursing. She enjoyed a successful 27-year nursing career in Saint John and Halifax. Marlyne’s thoughtfulness, concern, and love for others carried into her home life as she always stepped in to care for those in need. Marlyne was a supportive wife, a wonderful mother, and a devoted, loving grandmother. She was an adventurous world traveller who enjoyed dancing. She took special joy in celebrating happy occasions with family and friends. Her warm and fun-loving spirit will be missed by her many friends and acquaintances. Marlyne will be especially missed by her family: her husband Sisinio, their children Suzanne Villacastin (Scott Bagnell), and Katherine Villacastin (Ralph Daggett), her grandchildren MacGregor and Annika Bagnell, her brothers Robert (Linda) Jackson, William (Laurie) Jackson, Wayne Jackson, and Peter Jackson, along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her parents, Marlyne was predeceased by her brothers Frederick and Edward Jackson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Marlyne’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
