Obituary of Gillian A. Pipes

The death of Gillian Pipes of Saint John, beloved wife of the late John Pipes occurred on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 12, 1949 in Charlottetown, PEI, she was the daughter of the late James and Evelyn (Cunningham) Cudmore. Gillian retired from nursing in 2008 from the Saint John Regional Hospital, a career she truly enjoyed. After retirement she continued her working career with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires at the Saint John Airport. Gillian enjoyed gardening, baking and most of all treasured the times spent with her precious grandchildren. Gillian is survived by her son, James Pipes (Rikki Gobeil) of Saint John; sisters, Judith Graves (Charles) of Charlottetown, PEI and Cynthia MacEwen (Douglas) of Montague, PEI; brother, Lorne Cudmore of Montague, PEI; grandchildren, Jaxon Smit, Deven, Grayson and Hudson Pipes, Jessi, Emma and Paige Deslauriers; sister-in-law, Carol Pipes of Dartmouth, NS; as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 10:00 AM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
