Norma was very civic-minded and worked tirelessly as a Board member of the Y.W.C.A and the Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the National Secretaries Association, secretary of the Regional Hospital’s Gift Shop Committee, and she was a volunteer on the Regional Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit. Norma was predeceased by her sisters Donna Madill, Dorothy Carlin, and Marilyn Theall. Norma is survived by her daughter Meredith Appleby of Toronto, Ontario, and two sons - Steve Appleby (Marguerite) of Bristol, N.B. and John Appleby (Margie) of Musquodoboit Harbor, N.S.
