Obituary of Kathleen Mary Mabee
Mabee, Kathleen Mary – With appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Kathleen "Kay" Mary Mabee, announces her passing, which occurred on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Shannex Parkland– Saint John. Born in Fredericton, NB on April 7, 1922, she was a daughter of the late William and Ida (West) McGoldrick and wife of the late Gordon W. Mabee. Kay loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband. She spent 26 years working at the North end Sears in the Fashion Department, and became a familiar friendly face to all those who shopped there. She had also been a long-time member of St. Lukes Anglican Church, and was an active member of the church ACW for many years. She will be missed by her sons, William (Roberta), Peter (Mary) and Michael (Liliane); grandchildren, Stephen (Erin), Christopher (Julie), Jennifer, Erica (Andrew) and Darin; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandson; a brother, David (Bernice); as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Gordon, and her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by two granddaughters, Cathy and Laurie; and her siblings, Jean, Walter, Donald, Bill and Leo Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A celebration of Kay’s life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:00 pm in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
