Obituary of Eric Douglas Kent
The unexpected death of Peter Kent of Rothesay, beloved husband of Donna (Robichaud) Kent occurred at home on July 1, 2016 resulting from a brief illness. Born May 16, 1960 in Winnipeg, MB. He was the son of Pamela (Willis) Kent and the late Dr. Trevor Kent. Moving with his family to Lunenburg in 1969, his school years were spent at the Lunenburg Academy. On graduation he studied at Kings College, Halifax and later graduated from the DeVry Institute, Toronto with studies in computer science. He had been employed for the last 21 years with JD Irving Ltd in the IT Division. He had a true passion for sailing, fishing, snowshoeing, downhill skiing and supporting organizations in his community. He was paramount in his role as father and husband and was truly loved by his family and friends. Remembered for his infectious smile, he had a huge and gentle heart and brought calm to any storm. Peter saw the best in everyone and was tremendously proud of his children. Peter will be desperately missed by his wife Donna and their children, Dominic (Fredericton), Alexandre (Halifax) and Danielle (at home). He is also survived by his mother; his sisters, Judy (Paul) Riddoch of Lunenburg and Angela (Brett) Shorten of Australia. In-laws, Ovide and Evelyn Robichaud of Saint John; as well as nieces and nephews: Gabby, Melissa, Haynes, David, Kyle, Matthew and Conner. Besides his father, Peter was predeceased by his brother, Ian. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John with visiting on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Paul's Anglican Church, 4 Church Avenue, Rothesay on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Paul's Endowment Fund.
