Obituary of Margaret Evelyn Cudmore
It is with fond remembrances that the family of Margaret "Evelyn" (Harvey) Cudmore, wife of the late Lorimer D. Cudmore announce her passing, which occurred at Kings Way Care Centre on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the age of 98. Born in Summerside, PEI on December 26, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Louise Harvey. In Evelyn’s younger years, she worked as a teacher and as a Registered Nurse. She received several awards for the work she contributed to the Prince Edward Island Genealogical Society. She had a passion for knitting and enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. Her family always looked forward to receiving her warm knitted socks. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her son, John (Cynthia) Cudmore of Quispamsis; grandchildren, Lauren (Alex) of Ottawa and Grant (Katherine) of Gander, NFLD; daughter-in-law, Christine Cudmore; sister-in-law, Eunice Cudmore and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Lorimer "Pop", she was also predeceased by her son, Douglas; brother, Ralph; sister, Eleanor; brothers-in-law, Ivo and Arthur "King" (Marian); as well as sister-in-law, Marguerite (Gordon) Stewart. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you and appreciation to the staff and volunteers of Kings Way Care Center for the care and compassion shown to Evelyn. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A memorial service will be held in Prince Edward Island at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Evelyn may be made to Kings Way Care Centre.
