Obituary of Leona M. Guitard
With great sadness the family of Leona Guitard announces her passing on August 23, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on July 6, 1936 in Jacquet River, NB she was a daughter of the late George and Lucy Daigle. Leona enjoyed dancing, singing, playing the guitar, playing cards – especially 45’s and truly loved spending time with her children. Leona is survived by her husband Al of 47 years; children, Jeannette (Don) and Lloyd – both of Stouffville, ON, Brent (Janet) of Newmarket, ON; grandchildren Rachel, Joey, Shawn, Christopher and Mike; Great Grandchildren, Matthew, Corey, Kayla, Kaitlen, Breanna and Kera; sisters Barb, Joyce and Cecillia; brothers Raymond and Ronnie; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary; sisters Pat and Pearl; and brothers Clifford and Austin. The family would like to thank the staff of the SICU and Dr. Lugman for the exceptional care and kindness for their mom during her time of illness. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). As per Leona’s request, no funeral service will take place, although friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 9:00 am. Remembrances may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation
