Obituary of Ruth Lorraine Somerville
Somerville, Ruth Lorraine - It saddens us to announce the passing of Ruth L Somerville at the Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital in Perth Andover, NB on December 5, 2017. Ruth was born on May 18, 1957 to the late Catherine L. (Vaughan) and Graeme F. Somerville. Ruth was born and raised in Saint John, graduating from Saint John High School in 1975. From there she went on to Mount Allison University in Sackville where she graduated with her Arts degree then went on to Acadia University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Education degree. Ruth then taught elementary school in Plaster Rock for 3 years, then moved to Perth-Andover to teach at Andover Elementary school until her retirement. Besides her parents, Ruth was pre-deceased by her brother Peter of Fredericton in 2008. Ruth is survived by her brother Andrew, sister in laws Patti and Joyce. Nieces and nephews, Christopher Somerville of Toronto, Michael and Caitlin Somerville, Eric Somerville (Julie), Raven Taylor (Brad), all of Saint John, NB. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In respect of Ruth’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery. In memory of Ruth, donations can be made to the Catherine L. and Graeme F. Somerville Neonatal Fund, care of the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation or to an organization of one’s choice.
