Obituary of Nancy deBlois Page
With appreciation for a life well-lived, and devotion to family, the family of Nancy Page announces her peaceful passing, which occurred on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born in Saint John on August 1, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Frederick and Marion (Millidge) Dunlop. Following her graduation from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Nancy worked in the cities of Montreal and Saint John as a caring and professional nurse. She also served as a nurse in the military during WW2 as part of the No. 12 Canadian General Hospital. She was a member of St. Andrew and St. David United Church, Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 68, the Saint John Naturalist Club and the Nursing Sisters Association. Nancy will be missed by her beloved son, Dr. Fred Page (Hermine); her cherished granddaughter, Rebecca; a sister-in-law, Eva; and nieces and nephews, Cathy, Heather, Martha, Nancy, Cynthia, Melody and Robert. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Richard Page in 1990; and her brothers, Lewis (Dorothy) and Brydone "Jimmy". The family would like to thank the staff at Ridgewood Veterans Wing for their wonderful caring, friendly and dedicated efforts that made Nancy's last months and days as pleasant and comfortable as possible for herself and her family. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A private graveside service honouring Nancy’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing or any charity of the donor’s choice.
