Obituary of Donalda Cormier Quinlan
It is with great sadness that the family of Donalda Cormier Quinlan of Saint John announce her passing, which occurred on Friday, May 12, 2017 at her residence at Shannex, Tucker Hall. Born on January 6, 1926 in Caraquet, she was the daughter of André Cormier and Arthémise Doiron. Donalda was married for 47 years to her loving husband, Jack Quinlan. Along with her husband, she leaves behind her three daughters and two sons, Geralda Richard (Rosairio) of Saint John, Meriza Berard (John) of Quebec, Anne Duguay of Saint John, Donald Duguay of Saint John and Abel Duguay of Ontario; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; brother-in-law, Charlie Quinlan (Marsha) and sister-in-law, Louise Quinlan Hodder. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sons, Hedare and Jacques Duguay; two brothers and two sisters. Her pleasures in life were dancing, playing bingo and cards, quilting and she also loved to bake for her family and friends. Donalda retired from Fundy Linen. She was a member of the Lady’s Auxiliary Branch #69 and the 30 Up Club. A special thank you to the staff of Shannex and her friends at Simms Court for the love and care of our mother. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 6-9 PM and Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
