Obituary of Jane Flavelle Brown

The family of Jane Brown, wife of the late Kenneth J. Brown, announce her peaceful passing on April 19, 2017 at her residence in the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre in Hampton, NB. Born January 21, 1924 in Toronto, ON, she was a daughter of the late Edwin O. and Hellen G. (Flavelle) Bradshaw. Jane served as a WRCNS in World War II, and was a graduate of the University of Toronto, in Occupational Therapy. She was a life member of Girl Guides of Canada, serving for over 50 years. She was a choir and CWL member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Rothesay. She was a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and was a Paul Harris Rotary Fellow. Jane is survived by her children: Martha Paulin (Tim), Jacob "Jay" Brown, and Andrea Schaerer (Heinz), all of Rothesay; grandchildren: Michael Paulin, Michelle Allan (Jeff), Christopher Schaerer, and Alexandra Schaerer; her sister, Ann Lagassé; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Bradshaw and Mary Hollander. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate Jane’s life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11 am from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay. Family will receive visitors at a reception at the church, following the service. Remembrances to the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre, Girl Guides of Canada- Camp Chacik, or Our Lady of Perpetual Help’s Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
