Obituary of Mary Kirkpatrick

With appreciation of a life well lived, the family of Mary Kirkpatrick, wife of the late Dyson Kirkpatrick, announce her passing which occurred on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Brookville, NB on May 24, 1922, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family and a daughter of the late Andrew and Emily McKay. Mary was a long time member of St. Paul’s United Church. She enjoyed fishing, driving her car and playing cards. Mary leaves special foster daughter Deborah Stromenberg, foster grandchildren: Mark and Anna and step-granddaughter Marlis Kirkpatrick of Ontario along with several nieces, nephews, members of her extended family and a wonderful circle of friends who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her first husband Robert Beck, her brothers: William, Andrew and Thomas McKay, sisters: Sarah Merryweather, Christina O’Donnell (LeBlanc) and Jessie Jonah. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424). In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers and for those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of your own choosing.
