Obituary of Arthur Lewin Blizzard

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur "Art" Lewin Blizzard, 86, on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Loch Lomond Village, Willow House surrounded by his family. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Art was born in Saint John, N.B on June 7, 1932 to the late Melville R. and Mariam M. Blizzard. Art worked for the City of Saint John and was the owner and operator of A & J Paving. Art's favourite pastimes were spending time with family, and camping with friends for 36 years at Pine Cone Trailer Park. Art was a loving husband to Joan Blizzard for 41 years. She will forever be his "sweetheart". Art was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a heart of gold and always made time to listen to everyone. Art will be forever missed and survived by his son Michael (Charlane); daughter Carol (Kevin); step-children: Beverley (Dale), Joey (Maggie), Cindy, Scott (Nicole); 11 grandchildren Nicole (Tyler), Leo (Amy), Nick (Megan), Celina (Grant), Joshua (Stephanie), Lindsey (Aaron), Jillian (Stephen), Andrew (Courtney), Daniel (Taylor), Sarah and Tyler; and 9 great-grandchildren who were the love of his life; along with sister-in-law Bernice Blizzard; several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by brothers: Fred, Lorne, Leonard; sisters, Gertrude and Rita; son-in-law Nick Lignos; sister-in-law, Mary Pike; and his infant great-granddaughter, Lucy. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Willow House staff in the Village for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Art and the family. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Art's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family graveside service will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in Art's name can be made to the Willow House, Loch Lomond Villa Foundation. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
