Obituary of Jennie Irene Cohen

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jennie Irene Cohen, wife of the late Benjamin Cohen, announces her passing which occurred peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Shannex in Saint John. Born on August 7, 1915, Jennie was the daughter of the late Myer and Bessie (Levine) Cohen. Jennie will be missed by her daughter Lorie Cohen-Hackett, her sisters-in-law: Erminie Cohen and Terry Cohen, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and members of her extended family. Besides her parents and husband Benjamin, Jennie was predeceased by her son-in-law Win Hackett, and brothers: Edgar and Israel Cohen. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A graveside service will take place on Monday, September 12 at 2 PM from Shaarei Zedek Cemetery, Westmorland Road. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John Jewish Museum, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of donor’s choice.
