Obituary of Lorna Jean Boyd
The death of Lorna Jean Boyd, wife of the late James Stevenson Boyd, occurred on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 6, 1924 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Cecilia (Causey) Evans. Lorna was a long-time member of Park Avenue United Church, where she served on the Board, and volunteered at the East Saint John Food Bank for close to 30 years. Lorna is survived by her children: Carolyn McHugh (Ronald), Catherine Boyd (Bernadette Mulligan), Ted Boyd (Theresa Stewart), Bill Boyd (Lisa Li), and Gladys LeClair (Danny); grandchildren: Evan, Bradley, Colin, Eric, Marc, Trevor, Jessica, Chelsea, and Sherri; great-grandchildren: Margaret, James, Adeline, and Carmindy; sisters: Bernice George, Marie Howe, and Linda Evans; and brother, Doug Evans; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, James, Lorna was predeceased by her grandson, Mathieu LeClair; and brothers and sisters: Gladys, Melvin, Dorothy, Willie, Ronald, Leona and Fanny. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 5 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 1 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the East Saint John Food Bank, SPCA- Animal Rescue, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
