Obituary of Marjorie Josephine Cobbett
The family of Dolly Cobbett, wife of the late Ronald W. Cobbett, announce her passing on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at her residence in Shannex’s Embassy Hall in Quispamsis. Born July 18, 1932 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Mary G. (Martin) Marr. Dolly loved playing BINGO and going bowling, and could often be found at Rhoda’s Flea Market, where she was a "regular". Her greatest joy was her large family. Dolly is survived by her seven children: Diane Schrader (Billy) of Saint John, Sandra Steeves (David) of Sussex, Ronald Jr. (Geraldine) of Saint John, Allen (Denise) of Quispamsis, Dawn Shephard (Glen) of Saint John, Susan Cobbett (Gary) of Saint John, and Sharon Scott (Paul) of Summerville; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia Smith (Gerald). In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, James; sister, Georgina; and an infant sister, Margaret. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 2 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Society of NB, the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
