Obituary of Francis Joseph Arsenault
After a lengthy illness on November 19, 2016 Francis Joseph Arsenault passed away peacefully at the Loch Lomond Villa with his caring and loving family at his side. Born in Saint John NB on December 6, 1946, he was a son of the late Toussaint and Lydia (Hachey) Arsenault. Francis worked at the Saint John Shipbuilding and Dry Dock for 22 years and nine months. He had previously been employed with McAvity’s for four years and also with Kwik Pik for two years. Nothing gave Francis more pleasure than talking with family and friends about the old days. His memory for events was remarkable. He also enjoyed listening to country music and watching movies. He will be greatly missed by brothers: Peter (Barb) of Apohaqui; Raymond (Dale) of Sussex; Louis (Bonnie) of Hampton; John of Latimore Lake; and sisters: Viola of Quispamsis and Jean (Ron) of Loch Lomond Road. Francis is also survived by one aunt Rita Conway, several nieces and nephews and many cousins. Francis was predeceased by his brother Ernest and sister in law Marlene. The family would like to thank the Loch Lomond Villa (Elm Lane), particularly Shirley, Joanne, Sue, Doctor Will O’Brien, Doctor Yang and all staff and volunteers for the care and kindness shown towards Francis during his stay. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 2:00-3:00 PM in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, with a funeral service immediately following at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery followed by a reception at Brenan’s Reception Centre. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Francis may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB, the Loch Lomond Villa Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
