Obituary of Elizabeth Lottie MacGowan

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Elizabeth "Betty" MacGowan, wife of Darrell Rushton MacGowan, announces her passing which occurred on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Kennebec Manor . Betty was born on June 20, 1938 to the late Nelson and Mary (Amos) Green. Betty enjoyed bowling and spending her summers at the cottage in Cambridge Narrows, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and taking great joy in caring for her grandchildren. Betty will be missed by her surviving family, her husband Darrell, her children: Steven (Debbie Brasseur) Ouellette, Kevin Ouellette both of Alberta, Raymond (Charming Mhel) Ouellette of the Philippines, Debra (Janet) Ouellette-McLeod and Angela (Micheal) Duplessis both of Saint John, her grandchildren: Daniel, Kelsey, Phillip, Katie, Josh, Karie, and Daphne, her 3 great grandchildren, her brother Nelson (Mary) Green, sister-in-law: Helen MacGowan along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her parents, Betty is predeceased by her first husband Ivan Ouellette, her father-in-law Murry MacGowan, brother-in-law Dean MacGowan and her sister-in-law Verna Estabrooks. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society (Lewy Body Dementia) or a charity of donor’s choice.
