Obituary of Timothy Francis O'Leary
The death of Timothy Francis O’Leary, a lifelong resident of Saint John and last surviving member of his family, occurred at Ridgewood Veterans Wing on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Timothy was born on December 1, 1922, a son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Quinlan) O’Leary. He served overseas during World War II with the Canadian Army in the New Brunswick Rangers. He was employed as a foreman with Canadian Pacific Railway until his retirement in 1986. He was a founding member of St. Pius X Church. Tim is survived by his sister-in-law, Connie O’Leary, along with several nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and cousins. Besides his parents, Tim was predeceased by his brothers: Harold, John and Joseph; his sister, Mary Stafford; nephew, Donald Stafford; great niece, Paula Marie Burns. We would like to express a most sincere thank you to his caring best friend Orio and all the staff at Ridgewood Veterans Wing for their amazing compassion, as the exceptional care was outstanding. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25 from 2 pm - 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 26 at 11 am from St. Pius X Parish, 316 Somerset Street, Saint John. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery – Golden Grove Road. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Ridgewood Veterans Wing Comfort Fund, the St. Pius X Restoration Fund or a charity of your choice.
