Obituary of Stephen Robert Rae
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stephen Robert Rae announce his passing which occurred on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 26, 1960, he was the son of Charlie and the late Marion (Hayes) Rae. Stephen was a heavy haul truck driver in Fort McMurray for several years and recently moved back to Saint John. In his younger years, Stephen was very active. He played hockey, and was a long time Maple Leaf fan, scuba dived and played racquetball. Stephen also had a love of the outdoors where he enjoyed deer and moose hunting, 4-wheeling (Quading), golfing and most recently, kayaking. Above all, he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Stephen will be missed by his family, his children: Steve Rae (Jen Parisella) and Haylee Rae, the mother of his children Brenda McQuinn, his sisters: Bev (Hedley) Pearson and Jane Rae (Jim Hanley), his nieces Jaime (Shawn) Trites and Shawna (Steven) Anderson along with members of his extended family. Stephen was predeceased by his mother Marion. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will take place on Monday, October 3 from 5-8. A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, October 4 at 11 am from Glen View United Church, 8 Upland Road. Interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the John T. McMillan Memorial Foundation or to the SPCA-Animal Rescue.
