Obituary of Hazel Lillian Melanson
It is with great sadness that the family of Hazel Melanson of Saint John, beloved wife of the late Edward Leo Melanson announces her passing, which occurred on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home. Born on November 13, 1931 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Margaret (nee Boyle) Dow. Hazel is survived by her children, Brenda (nee Melanson) Davidson and Mark Melanson both of Saint John; special granddaughter, Crystal (nee Davidson) Barthelot (Philip) of Saint John; brother, Ronald Dow (Eileen) of Saint John; sister, Marilyn Buck (Denton) of Saint John; precious great-grandchildren, Joshua, Braydon, Brandy, Chantal and Jayden; special friend, Edith Kelly of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her great-grandson, Baby Philip and brothers, Wilfred Jr., Russell and Robert. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 7-9 PM and Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home or to Mission Point Church.
