Obituary of Beverley David Cummings
It is with great sadness that the family of Beverley "Bev" David Cummings of Saint John, loving husband of Marjorie (Lockhart) Cummings announce his passing, which occurred peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 6, 1933 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Gordon and Katherine (Lloyd) Cummings. Bev was proud of his time serving as a Driver for the Korean Service Battalion and prior to his retirement, he worked in the mailroom at the Telegraph Journal. Bev especially treasured the times spent with those he loved and will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He enjoyed the great outdoors and especially loved camping. In addition to his wife of 58 years, Marjorie, Bev is also survived by their children, Rosemary Cummings (Mike) of the Kingston Peninsula, Susan Cummings (Chris) of Sussex, Carolyn Cummings of Fredericton, Dawn Barnett (Michael) of Saint John, Darlene Farrer (Mark) of Frankfort, ON and David Cummings (Tamara) of Hamilton, ON; sisters, Marlene Cummings and Kathleen Lomax; many precious grandchildren, Alicia, Tabitha, Catherine, Nathan, Hayley, Jordan, Ryan, Andrea, Shelby, Bradley, Kyra, Chelsea, Evan and Kendra; great-grandchildren, Logan, Allysa, Connor, Riley and Benjamin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his sisters, Joy Lloyd and Esther Lockhart and brother, Gordon Cummings. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Donations made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue, would be appreciated by the family.
