Obituary of Bruce Robert Smith
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bruce Robert Smith of Saint John announces his passing, which occurred on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on April 2, 1938 in Clarendon, NB, he was the son of the late Stanley Preston and Lillian Mary (Simms) Smith. Bruce is survived by his spouse, Claudia Stewart and one sister, Carolyn Hubbard (George). In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Raymond and Arthur; as well as sister, Aletha. In the 1960s, Bruce enlisted in the army and was proud of his time spent serving throughout Canada and the Middle East. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB.
