Obituary of Marilyn Dawn Leaman
The death of Marilyn Leaman of Saint John, beloved wife of the late Charles Leaman occurred on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born on January 26, 1941 in Maces Bay, she was the daughter of the late James and Ethel (Tear) Mawhinney. Marilyn took great comfort in her faith and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Until recently, she enjoyed her time spent singing in the church choir, attending the Light Spot and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society and Guild. Marilyn especially enjoyed the times spent with those she loved and was always up for a game of bingo and was an avid bowler. She will be sadly missed. Marilyn is survived by her two sons, David and Keith both of Saint John; sister, Sandra White of Alberta; half- brother, Elry Tear of Australia and step-brother, Ronnie Mawhinney of Saint John. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her daughter-in-infancy, Sandra and step-mother, Helena Walsh. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, July 26 and Wednesday, July, 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Tabernacle Baptist Church, Haymarket Square, Saint John on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
