Obituary of Mark Stephen MacNairn
Aug 5, 1952 - Mar 6, 2016 Mark Stephen MacNairn passed early Sunday morning March 6, 2016 at his home in Saint John, spending his last evening together with the love of his life, Loretta Brideau. Mark will be lovingly remembered by his friends and family for his many kindnesses and love shown; for his brightness of mind and generosity of spirit; for his gentle wit and good humour; and especially for his dogged determination to live life on his own terms, come what may. " C’est la vie!" he was often heard to say. Mark loved life and its many joys, was torn by its struggles, and was entangled in its complexities. His heart continued to beat, until one day it just stopped beating; he died of cardiac arrest, after successfully battling cancer for many years, falling victim to a long suffering heart and other diseases. In addition to Loretta and her family, and his many friends, Mark is survived by family, including: his sister, Jean MacNairn, of Toronto, ON; two brothers, Stuart (Sylvia), of Dieppe, NB, and Brian (Linda), of Red Deer, AB; nephews Scott MacNairn, Peter Germanese, Ian & Colin MacNairn; niece Robyn Germanese; and grandnephew Jacob MacNairn. Mark is predeceased by his loving parents, Oswald & Helen (MacKendrick) MacNairn, late of Moncton, his brother, Lance MacNairn, and his beloved nephew Glen MacNairn. Mark was sixty-three years of age when he passed. An interment service will be held at a later date to reunite Mark’s remains with his family passed. Arrangements are in the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances in Mark`s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetic Association or to the donors choice.
