Obituary of David Evans
It is with appreciation for a life well-lived that the family of David R. Evans announces his passing, which occurred peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Bobby’s Hospice surrounded by his loving family. Born in Saint John on November 15, 1943, he was a son of the late Robert and Catherine (Hanlon) Evans.
Following his graduation from St. Malachy’s High School in 1960, David enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy, serving from 1962-1965. He was employed by the Corps of Commissionaires, working at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the 1980’s and early 1990’s, retiring in 1992. David enjoyed boxing, curling and baseball – especially the Blue Jays. He loved country music, and all of the traveling adventures with Lois through the years.
David will be missed by his beloved wife Lois (MacDonald) Evans of 38 years; his son, Paul; grandchildren, Cameron and Chris; his sister Florence (George); as well as his extended family. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his siblings Donna, Joan and Harry.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 10am-12pm with a Funeral Liturgy following at 12:00 pm in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
