Obituary of George K. Short
Unexpectedly, the death of G. Kenneth (Ken) Short of Foulis Court, husband of Rose (Duguay) Short, occurred on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at his residence. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late John and Rita (McCarthy) Short. Ken was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires as a Corporal, an active member of the Saint John Salvage Corps Fire and Police, past president of Fish and Game Association, instructor of the hunter and safety course and former Cub leader of St. Peter's Church. He is survived by one son Peter (Tarra) Short of Ontario; one daughter Michelle (Todd) Short of Saint John; five grandchildren: Evan, Matthew, Erica, Chloe and Dakoda; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by grandson Brady. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 15 and 16, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2005 from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:15 pm. Following cremation interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Ducks Unlimited or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB. There will be a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute service on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
