Obituary of Douglas Gordon McKinney
Family, relatives and friends are saddened to learn of the passing of Douglas Gordon McKinney on March 6, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a period of failing health. Born in Saint John on April 18, 1929, he was a son of the late Florence Annie (Edwards) and William Harold McKinney. Doug is survived by his first wife Elizabeth and children: Joan (Dave), Roy (Linda), Fred (Ann), Ralph (Pat), Julia, Douglas (Debbie), Brice (Faye), Harold, Ronald, Leonard. His brothers: Charlie (Rose), Roy; sisters: Dorothy, Annie (Bunny) (Frank), Helen; twenty- three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his second wife, Esther (Giggey); brothers: William, Harold and Danny; sisters: Peggy, Betty, Clara, Jennie, Barbara and Constance. Doug was employed as a maintenance worker at Prince Edward Square Mall and superintendent of Prince Edward Apartments until his retirement in 1994. He will be sadly missed, but has left us with many happy memories. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday, March 7 & 8, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:15 pm. Following cremation interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
