Obituary of Charles Edward Walper
The death of Charles Edward Walper, husband of Betty L. (Todd) Walper, occurred on May 29, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Donovan, Saskatchewan, he was the son of the late Edward Albert (Bill) and Evelyn Elizabeth (Riddell) Walper. He was employed with the Security Department of the Bank of Canada after his retirement as Staff Sergeant with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #64, the RCMP Veteran's Association, and was a member of the Men of Fundy. He enjoyed gardening and his computer and loved to sing in various Barber Shop Quartets over the years. Besides his wife Betty he is survived by his daughters Joanne Peacock and her husband Ron of Pickering, ON, Carolyn McIntyre and her husband John of Saint John, his sister Ruby Loucks of Okotoks, Alberta, his grandchildren Allison, Jacqueline, Hilary, Emma and Evelyn, and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at 11:00 AM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Hunter River, Prince Edward Island. Remembrances made to the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
