Obituary of Olive Bernice Allen
Peacefully, in her 98th year, on August 31st 2004, at MacLean's Special Care Home, Saint John, N.B. Born in Brenton, Yarmouth County, N.S. Daughter of the late Judson A. and Abbie F. (Crosby) Clements. Graduate of Yarmouth County Academy and Acadia University (B.A. 1928). Received a Superior First Teacher's License and taught in Yarmouth Elementary Schools. She had a great love of music, particularly sacred vocal music, and sang in church choirs for over 50 years. A member of Edith Avenue United Baptist Church, she was for many years director of the senior choir and a Sunday school teacher. Dominion Life Member of the United Baptist Women's Missionary Union, and Provincial Member of the Women's Missionary Society. Predeceased by her husband, A. Ronald Allen, sister, Irene (Mrs. Gordon MacKinnon), and sister-in-law, Louise (Mrs. Wilfred Tudor). Survived by four nephews, Stuart MacKinnon of Ottawa, Wendell Tudor of Atlanta, GA., George Tudor of Ellicott City, MD. , and Alan Tudor of Tallahassee, FL. ; three nieces, Joyce Friesen of Winnipeg, Joan Luedemann of Dartmouth, N.S., and Mary Lavoie of Miami; and many grand nieces and nephews in Canada & the United States. Special thanks to Bonnie and staff at MacLean's, and Leslie McColgan. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B., E2K 3H6, Thursday, Sept. 2nd, 2-4, & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Edith Avenue United Baptist Church on Friday, Sept. 3, 2004 at 11:00 am. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
