Obituary of Elmer Murray Wright
The death of Elmer Murray Wright, husband of Judith Saunders-Wright, occurred on July 3, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Snider Mountain, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ellen Jane (Steen) Wright. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces RCEME before becoming a sales representative with Cody's Food Equipment and continued to work with Walmart in the automotive and gardening departments. He was past-president of the Oromocto Lions Club and had served in Oromocto as a Town Councilor and served on the Board of School Trustees. He was very active with the Provincial Liberal Party and volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society. He enjoyed time spent gardening. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughters Diane and her husband Donald Lanteigne of Geary, Ellen and Janet Wright both of Fredericton, his step-daughter Karen and her husband Bradley White of Saint John, his sons Murray and his wife Barbara of Lebanon, Ohio, Michael and his wife Bernice of Fredericton, Gordon of Saint John, Paul of St. Stephen, his step-son Bruce Saunders and his fiancée Agnes of Ontario, his sisters Ella and her husband John Morrison of Thamesford, ON, Hilda Simpson of Sussex, 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Following cremation at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), visiting will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at 12 Noon, from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
