Obituary of Doris May Bromfield
On Monday, October 11, 2004, peacefully - in her 100th year - at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Doris May Bromfield, daughter of the late Herbert W. and Leah M. (Bennett) Bromfield. Doris was a retired employee of the Canada Permanent Mortgage Corporation. She was a member of Trinity Church, where she belonged to the Choir, the Altar Guild and the Parish Guild, and was a long-time member of the Silver Cross Circle of the Kings Daughters and Sons. Survived by sister-in-law Louise Bromfield, Saint John; one niece, Lynn Ball of Grand Bay-Westfield; two nephews, Robert L. B. Johnson (Janie) of Ontario, and Gordon H. Shields (Sandra) of Rothesay; three great-nieces and one great-nephew; several great-great nephews and nieces. Doris was pre-deceased by three sisters, Lillian V. Higgins, Lucille M. Johnson and Bertha Shields, and by one brother, William B. Bromfield. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (506-634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, October 13 from 2-4 pm and 6?8 pm. The funeral will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Thursday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
