Obituary of Lawrence Melvin Blair
The death of Mr. Lawrence (Larry) Melvin Blair of Thompson Place, husband of Doreen (Tootsie) (Thompson) Blair, occurred on Friday, September 5, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late William and Doris (Little) Blair. Larry was employed with CP Rail as a brakeman, railman and foreman until his retirement, loved hunting, fishing and bowling. Besides his wife he is survived by sons Scott (Tina) Blair and grandson Daniel, Jerry (Cherie) O'Keefe and grandsons Cody, Darcy, Regan and granddaughter Kelsey, daughter Brenda (Ken) O'Keefe Atkinson and grandsons Kurt, Travis, Devon and Brady, brother Clifford Blair, five sisters Pearl Dorey, Mary Near, Frances (Eric) Adams, Margaret Prescari all of Saint John, Barbara Ann (Lloyd) Fairweather of Chipman, NB, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers James and Myles Blair, sister Dorothy Blair. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Sunday and Monday, September 7 & 8, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 from St. Rose of Lima Church at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care or the I.W.K.
