Obituary of Rae Edgar Chapman
With his loving family around him, Rae Edgar Chapman of Wasson Court, husband of Kathleen (McLeod) Chapman, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2004, ten days prior to his 93rd birthday, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS, he was the son of the late Harold and Jennie (Bickerton) Chapman. Rae was employed by H.S. Heinz Co. for 34 years as district manager for New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island until his retirement in 1971. He was a faithful member of Victoria St., now Main St. Baptist Church and for 30 years a winter visitor at South Peninsula Baptist Church in Daytona Shores, Florida. Rae was one of the longest serving members of the United Commercial Travellers of Canada, having been a member for 68 years. Besides his wife Kaye he is survived by one son, Wayne R. (Carol) Chapman Q.C. of Rothesay, NB, one daughter, Carol Ann Einarson of Ottawa; two grandsons, James and John Einarson of Ottawa; a granddaughter Chere (Gordon) Cooper of Vietnam; great grandson William Cooper of Vietnam; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by grandson Christopher Chapman, six brothers, one sister and son-in-law Richard Einarson. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) with visiting on Monday, October 11, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Main St. Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
