Obituary of WILLIAM L. DONOVAN
The death of William “Bill” Leo Donovan of 55 Smythe Street, Saint John, husband of Rosalie Ann (Whittaker) Donovan, occurred surrounded by his loving family on February 13, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Morris and Pearl (Slovitt) Donovan. Bill was a Prominent Sports Personality in New Brunswick and was a longtime Journalist with the Saint John Telegraph Journal and the New Freeman. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, William (Billy) M. (Christine) of Norton and Kevin W. (Sandi) of Rumford, ME, two daughters, Kimberly Donovan of Mississauga, ON and Heather Johnson (Dave) of Saint John, two brothers, Arnold Donovan (Marge) of Quispamsis and Pete Donovan (Lois) of Saint John; three sisters, Alice (Tig) Johnson of Saint John, Barbara Boucher (Donald) of Saint John and Lauren Bouchard (Joe) of New Maryland, NB; grandchildren Adam Donovan, Rachel Johnson and Vanessa Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Waterloo Street, Saint John on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 12:00 noon. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
